Barton Hollow [Deluxe]

The Civil Wars, an Americana, folk, and country duo formed by guitarist John Paul White and vocalist Joy Williams, quickly garnered attention with the release of their digital album Live at Eddie’s Attic in 2009. They then partnered with producer Charlie Peacock for their Poison & Wine EP and began working on their debut full-length album in 2010. The result, Barton Hollow, was released in 2011 and went on to earn RIAA gold certification. It topped the digital charts and broke into Billboard’s Top 20 during its first week. The album also earned the duo two Grammy Awards in 2011 for Best Folk Album and Best Country Duo/Group Performance, solidifying The Civil Wars as immediate staples of the genres.
